Privacy Policy
Veil VPN · Last updated July 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Veil VPN (“Veil”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Veil VPN application and related services (the “Service”). We built Veil around privacy: we do not log your browsing activity, and we minimize the data we collect.
1. Our no-logs commitment
Veil is a Virtual Private Network. When connected, your internet traffic is encrypted and routed through our servers. We do not monitor, record, or store the websites you visit, the content of your traffic, your DNS queries, or your original IP address associated with your activity. Our VPN servers do not keep activity or connection logs of your browsing.
2. Information we collect
- Anonymous device identifier. To operate your account without requiring an email or name, the app generates an anonymous token stored on your device. It is not linked to your real-world identity.
- VPN keys. Your WireGuard private key is generated on your device and never leaves it. Only your public key and an assigned internal tunnel IP are stored on our servers to route your connection.
- Subscription information. Purchases are processed by Apple. We and our provider Apphud receive purchase and subscription status (e.g., product, trial, active/expired, transaction identifiers) to grant premium access. We do not receive your payment card details.
- Push token. If you allow notifications, a push token is stored (via Apphud) to send you relevant messages such as trial or billing reminders.
- Analytics and diagnostics. We collect app usage events and technical data (e.g., screens viewed, connection success/failure, app version, device model, OS version, approximate country) through analytics providers including Amplitude and Apphud, to understand usage and improve the app.
- Speed test and leak test. The in-app speed test uses Cloudflare’s public endpoints; the leak test queries a third-party IP-geolocation service to display your visible location. These features send your current IP address to those services when you use them.
3. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and secure the VPN connection.
- Manage subscriptions, trials, and premium access.
- Send service-related notifications (if enabled).
- Analyze and improve performance, reliability, and features.
- Prevent fraud and abuse and comply with legal obligations.
4. Third-party services
We share limited data with providers who process it on our behalf or provide platform features:
- Apple — App Store, in-app purchases, push delivery.
- Apphud — subscription management, analytics, and push infrastructure.
- Amplitude — product analytics.
- Cloudflare — speed-test endpoints.
- IP-geolocation provider — leak-test location lookup.
- Cloud hosting providers — operate our control and VPN servers.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Data retention
Anonymous account and subscription records are retained while your account is active and as needed for legal, accounting, and fraud-prevention purposes. Analytics data is retained in aggregate or pseudonymous form. VPN tunnel configuration (public key and internal IP) is removed when no longer needed.
6. Security
Traffic is encrypted with the WireGuard protocol (Curve25519, ChaCha20-Poly1305). Communication with our servers uses HTTPS/TLS. Your private key never leaves your device.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. Because Veil accounts are anonymous, we may be unable to identify data relating to you without additional information.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): rights to know, delete, and opt out of “sale”/“sharing” (we do not sell your data).
- EEA/UK (GDPR): rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, and objection.

8. Children
Veil is not directed to children and is intended for users 17 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
